Unesco heritage, environmentally sustainable choices, great passion for the vineyards - strong respect for the environment, the land, the vineyards, the people.

Our Story

The Penna family has been linked to vineyards for generations. “My parents were both sons of winemakers. My wife and I have taken the baton, cultivating new vineyards, adopting new techniques, while holding firm to traditions. La Briusa is a family-run business, currently boasting 9 hectares located in the hills of Vigliano d’Asti and Montegrosso d’Asti.”

The vineyard must be painted with a brush is a saying in our family-we have always wanted the best for the vineyards, which we follow in every detail, with care and deep dedication for aesthetic and functional reasons.

“The word briusa from the Piedmontese dialect identifies a sunny, cheerful and energetic person. In the company logo I chose to depict the face of a smiling woman, intent on looking at the vineyards in the hills, dedicated to my wife and two daughters.”

“For over fifty years I have been taking care of my clients-they know me, my wife, and I have an established bond of trust with them. Some have been clients for two generations, mine and my father’s.”

We believe in teamwork based on experience, expertise and passion.

At the grape harvest, in particular, the forces of the whole family and a number of people in the village join forces, and with experience, professionalism and deep respect they devote themselves to the activity of harvesting a year’s labors.

Our pride

Barbera d'Asti DOCG.

The Barbera grape variety finds perfect soil in the hills of Vigliano and Montegrosso d’Asti, giving us Barbera d’Asti, a structured, warm, full-bodied wine that is ruby red at a younger age and has burgundy undertones with a few years of aging.

For Barbera d’Asti, the D.O.C.G. indication on the label is synonymous with quality; the specification imposes quality standards on the wines starting with the vineyards-in particular, the perpendicular arrangement of the rows to the hillside is required for better exposure, limited production quantities in favor of excellent wines.
